This bead is inspired by Queen Anne Boleyn (Henry VIII’s second wife) who was executed in 1536, 490 years ago this year. A queen of England who it has been said, from historical research, was innocent of all charges against her. Anne divided the country and ultimately changed the course of history.
I own a large collection of beads and love how most of them have a meaning to them. My mother recently bought me as a present the pomegranate bead due to this being Queen Katherine of Aragon’s emblem (Henry VIII’s first wife). I wanted to design this bead for the second wife in this anniversary year and also because Anne’s maternal grandfather is the 2nd Duke of Norfolk, my 17th great grandfather. Sharing this link and meaning in a bead that I have designed and Trollbeads may create is an everlasting and special connection.
I have a large collection of these beads since starting my collection many years ago when my grandmother bought me my first set and then each year since. Since my grandmother passed away my mother has taken over this tradition. Trollbeads are all about meaningful designs and the majority of my beads have a relationship to me. Having beads which have different meanings and relating to my interests, has inspired me to express my own ideas and in particular to bring history back into the modern world.
