Over the Rainbow

“Somewhere over the rainbow way up high.
There’s a land that I heard of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”

Over the Rainbow" is a ballad, with music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by Yip Harburg. It was written for the movie The Wizard of Oz and was sung by actress Judy Garland, in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. This song provided the inspiration for my design, as it is symbolic of everyone’s dreams and wishes.

Have you ever wondered, much like Dorothy, what magic could exist if you could find a place far, far away ‘Behind the moon, beyond rain’? Rainbows fascinate me, I’ve often wondered what it would be like to walk through its array of colours or rise above it with your head in the clouds. What would you find if you travelled to the ends of a rainbow? Would something magical be waiting for you there? This could be the place where all your dreams come true.

The foxtail chain on this design could pass between the rainbow and the Trolls body, via a cut out channel in the solid silver. Alternatively the rainbow could be quite chunky (viewed from the side angle), so the chain could pass through it at this point instead.

My bead allows you to follow those dreams. Believe in yourself and never give up hope. If you need a little extra confidence, a cute cuddly troll will chase away your inner doubts. The star will ensure you always have something to wish upon. And the lemon drop shaped glass contains the magical essence of a rainbow, guiding you through the darkness. Leave your troubles far behind. Dreams really do come true!
